History: |
NC 175 appeared in June 1967 (NCDOT) as a renumbering of NC 135! Likely this was a typo when first put into the system but had the force of legal status which had to be formally undone. It's original north end was today's SR 1353 (was US 64).
NC 135 is officially created May 1967 NCDOT Document
NC 135 becomes NC 175 June 1967 NCDOT Document In 1970, NC 175 was extended northwest replacing a piece of US 64 out to the modern US 64 location.
The first NC 175 was an original state highway, running from NC 194 Newland east to NC 17 (now US 321 Bus) Blowing Rock.

Comment: | NC 175 provides access to the east side of Chatuge Lake as well as a usable connector between US 64 and US 76 in Georgia. |
