In March 1932, AASHO responded to a citizen who had written regarding a US route proposal under consideration by North Caolina for a route from US 21 Sparta south over NC 18 through Wilkesboro, Lenoir, Morganton, Shelby and into SC on its way to Augusta GA. The number US 21-W was also suggested for this route.
AASHO rejected both the number and the corridor as unlikely to meet with their approval. |
