Creation: I-185 shows up as green dotted lines on the 1959 Official Map. The Greenville Inset of the '59 shows US 29 BUS running on this alignment up to US 25 White Horse Rd.
Adjustments: Between 1962-64, I-185 is shown as complete from I-85 north to the Bushy Creek Bridge (where I-185 ends today).
I-185 was extended east around to I-385/US 276 Mauldin in 2001 or 2002, as South Carolina's first tolled interstate.
Improvements: 4 lane freeway since inception.
Comment: I-185's new toll section allows movement from I-385 NB to I-85 SB or US 123 SB (via US 25 or SC 153), a movement made by many people trying to get to Clemson University from downstate (though not the way I would go...)
