SC 84: Appeared in 1934 or 1935 as new primary routing running from US 276 at the NC Line east to the Cox Camp Creek Bridge at the YMCA Camp (now Camp Greenville) at Little Rich Mountain. SC 84 dipped through a piece of North Carolina (always a secondary road on their side) to get there.
In 1947, SC 84 was downgraded to S-23-15.
