Creation: SC 157 appeared in 1942 as new primary routing, running as it does today. This is the 2nd SC 157. The middle third of SC 157 was proposed roadway as shown in the 1942 Kershaw County map.


Adjustments: In 1947, SC 157 was downgraded to S-28-24.
In 1949, SC 157 was brought back to the primary system.

Improvements: Paved in 1949; no multilane segments
Comment: There is a well-signed SC 157 TRUCK in Kershaw which begins at the SC 341 jct and heads north on S-29-31 Minor St, west on US 601 to US 521 Bus, and is also signed to continue along S-29-62 Hinton St to US 521 Bypass. This has been there since at least 2007.
