SC 490: Appeared in 1940 as new primary routing, running from SC 211 (now SC 160) near Fort Mill north to the NC Line.
In 1942, SC 490 was extended along SC 160 through Fort Mill then as new primary routing to end at US 521.
In 1947, SC 490 was downgraded to S-46-22, SC 160 remained through Fort Mill, S-46-36, and S-29-41. The northernmost part of SC 490 is now Carowinds Blvd into NC.
