SC 518: Appeared in 1940 as new primary routing, running from US 52-76 ALT-301 Florence east to Claussen. A second piece was also created running from SC 51 south 3 miles.
In 1942, SC 518 was extended west with US 76 ALT to US 76, then as new primary routing to end at SC 403 Oats. The second piece was extended south to SC 54 (now US 378) at the Lynches River. In 1947, SC 518 was downgraded to S-16-19, S-21-41 from Darlington-Florence line to US 76, S-21-13 between US 76 and US 52-301, S-21-28 from Florence to today's 327 near Claussen. The short job down to Claussen became SC 327. All of the remaining Florence County portion is now S-21-13. The second piece became S-21-30 (now S-21-46) and S-21-34. The gap between Claussen and SC 51 may have been partly filled with SC 327 in the mid 1940s.
