SC 560
< SC 557 | Home | SC 561 >
From: Cross Hill (Laurens County)
To: Kinards (Newberry County)
Total Length: 13.3 miles
ROUTE LOG
SC 39: 0 - 0
SC 56: 7.3 - 7.3
Newberry-Laurens Line: 0 - 7.3
US 76: 6.0 - 13.3
Creation: SC 560 appeared in 1940 as new primary routing, running from SC 7 (now SC 72) north of Mountville east to US 76 Kinards with a 2-mile SC 56 overlay in between. This is the only SC 560.
Adjustments: In 1947, SC 560 was downgraded to S-30-27 (now S-30-49/38/46) west of SC 56 and S-36-23 and S-36-28 east of SC 56.
In 1949, SC 560 reappeared running from US 76 Kinards west to SC 56 like before, but instead continued across replacing S-30-70 to end at SC 39 Cross Hill.
Improvements: Fully paved upon resurrection in 1949; no multilane segments.
Comment: Technically, SC 560 WB does not exist in Newberry County, as the county line is in the center of the road from SC 56 all the way to US 76.
SC 560 can be used as a useful way to get from I-26 to Greenwood.
