Creation: SC 576 appeared in 1973 as new construction as a 4-lane bypass cutoff between US 76 and US 501 at Marion. This is the only SC 576.

Comment: SC 576 was part of the economically driven decision to improve Myrtle Beach access from Florence by upgrading US 76 and US 501 instead of extending I-20, a decision I'm guessing is widely regretted today.
