SC 916: Appeared in 1940 as new primary routing, running from SC 9 near Little Rock northwest to today's S-17-733.
In 1942, SC 916 was extended north as new primary routing to SC 831 (now S-17-26). Additionally, a second discontinuous piece was formed from SC 83 near the NC Line northwest to SC 381 McColl. This made a grand total of 11.6 miles.
In late 1947, SC 916 from SC 9 to today's S-17-733 was downgraded to S-17-24; north to SC 831 became S-17-31 (now S-17-24 to Sinclair Crossroads, S-17-50 and S-17-31 north to S-17-26); while McColl to SC 83 became S-35-27.
