Creation: Appeared in 1983 with the same endpoints as it has now.
Adjustments: In 2002, TN 297 was rerouted at Oneida to head south with US 27 to Huntsville then east with TN 63. The old routing became TN 456. Posting: Posted as a secondary route TN 297 is posted on both its US 27 and TN 63 overlays. Secret US Route Overlay: None Comment: Not sure what the removal from today's TN 456 accomplished. TN 297 is really long for one of the secondary routes taken into the system.
