Adjustments: Between 1989-94, TN 299 was moved onto I-40 over to a newly constructed interchange, leaving behind Westel Rd.
In 1999, TN 299 was given a new Emory River bridge, taking it south of Oakdale. This left behind W Main St west of the river and Camp Austin Rd in Oakdale.

TN 299 is not posted on I-40 itself and there is no sign to get on 40 EAST. There is a sign at the other end telling you to get on 40 WEST.
