US 125: In October 1927, Kentucky requested a US Route that would've included Chattanooga northward. AASHO responded that if they would replace their northern US 25W with US 27, the entire corridor could be an extended corridor. If they couldn't, AASHO would have number the Tennessee portion US 125.
Kentucky did meet the condition, and US 27 was designated. Note that at the same time, Tennessee had asked for this to be designated as US 33. | ||
