Northern Terminus
Looking at the "northern" terminus of US 258 (but actually facing south), towards the edge of Fort Monroe. It is unclear when US 258's official endpoint moved to this location. Maps continue to show it going into Fort Monroe. Mapmikey says it was posted just like this in 1991. Photo by Adam Froehlig, taken November 28, 1999.
Looking from the southeast leg at the intersection, facing away from Fort Monroe. On the far side are US 258 and VA 143 trailblazers, and a TO I-64 shield. Photo by Adam Froehlig, taken November 28, 1999. |
Former Northern Terminus
US 258 used to run to the ferry launch at Old Point Comfort on Fort Monroe. This is looking towards Norfolk. Photo by Mapmikey, taken April 19, 2008.
