Former Southern Termini

From 1928-33, VA 45's south end was here at the current VA 13-SR 682 jct east of Cumberland CH. This is looking west on VA 13.   Photo by Mapmikey , taken December 9, 2006.

This is looking east on VA 13.   Photo by Mapmikey , taken December 9, 2006.

This is beginning north on SR 682 (old VA 45) which runs into the current US 60-VA 45 split in less than a mile. Today it just looks like every other minor secondary route in Cumberland County. Oddly, VA 45 was still routed this way for several years after the modern US 60 was built.   Photo by Mapmikey , taken December 9, 2006.

From 1933-early 70s, VA 45's south end was here which is a block or two south of the current VA 45 end. This is looking east on High St which used to be US 15, which would turn right while VA 45 began left. Farmville has conveniently left a modern posting of this scenario.   Photo by Mapmikey , taken December 9, 2006.
