Southern Terminus
The split between northbound US 258 and northbound VA 189. VA 189, in conjunction with VA 260 and an under-construction connector, will serve as an ad-hoc "eastern bypass" of Franklin for trucks and other traffic. VA 189 has ended here since 1943. Photo by Adam Froehlig, taken October 5, 2002. |

Heading down old VA 189 away from US 258. Technically because of administrative oversight, VA 189 ended 0.04 miles short of the intersection until 1940. Photo by Mapmikey, taken February 19, 2006. |
Northern Terminus
When the US 58 Holland/Franklin bypass was built, it utilized a portion of the VA 189 right-of-way southwest of Holland. VA 189 continues along this stretch (duplexed with US 58) and still ends in Holland at now-BUS US 58. This is the view from the business route. Photo by Adam Froehlig, taken March 15, 2003. | |
