Adjustments: In 1976, the east end of WV 214 was moved to the current Corridor G approach to WV 61 from Oakwood Dr (all new construction). The old route remains part of Oakwood Rd to Cantly Dr; destroyed routing east across Corridor G to the railroad tracks; Ferry St and Thayer St between the railroad and WV 61.
In 1982, WV 214 east was truncated to its current endpoint, with the Corridor G portion becoming US 119 and US 119 SPUR with the remainder of WV 214 becoming Oakhurst Ln east of Lawndale Ln; US 119 was built on top of WV 214 between WV 601 and Lawndale Ln. WV 214 was also rebuilt in the area where it crosses US 119 at Terry Rd, with old WV 214 using a bit of RHL Blvd; also slightly rebuilt where it crosses US 119 at Ruth

Improvements: Upon designation, WV 214 was fully paved; was multilaned on its brief Corridor G routing from 1976-82 but has no multilane segments now.
Comment: WV 214 is extremely poorly posted east of Childress Rd Access to US 119. The two direct crossings of US 119 in Ruth further east are NOT marked as WV 214 anywhere. WV 214 is posted at the WV 601 interchange from the ramps and leaving the interchange, though not from on US 119 itself.
WV 214 was co-posted with US 119 for a time from I-64.
