 Creation: Appeared between 1968-73, running the way it does now. This is the 2nd of 3 WV 3 ALTs.
Adjustments: None
Improvements: Fully paved upon designation; no mulitlane segments.
Comment: This is actually the signed way WV 3 WB must use to get across WV 16 in an odd zig-zag set-up. Although only WV 3 WB is signed this way, it does allow 2-way traffic and can be used to go from WV 16 NB to WV 3 EB.
The one-way splits for WV 3 appeared in 1967 per a website on the history of Beckley and WV 3 was moved to 2nd St by the 1973 topo, whcih is the date range that WV 3 ALT must have been born.

 Creation: Appeared sometime after 1946 running the way it does now. I have no county maps to narrow this down. This is the 3rd of 3 WV 3 ALTs.
Adjustments: None
Improvements: Fully paved upon designation; no mulitlane segments.
Comment: This WV 3 ALT route can only be driven northbound as it is one-way Raleigh St throughout.
Topo maps suggest WV 3's routing through Whitesville 2 blocks over has always been there, so I don't think WV 3 ALT was ever WV 3.

 		WV 3 ALT #1: Appeared in 1957 as a renumbering of WV 3 through Hinton.
WV 3 ALT was removed in favor of WV 20 and WV 107 between 1981-83. The 1997 DeLorme labels the route as both WV 3 ALT and WV 107.
It is still Wv 107 except WV 107 has been rerouted off of 1st St over the railroad bridge. It is unclear when the one way pair using Pleasant St and Main St was put into place.
