NC 211 Business was born in 1975 as an upgrade to secondary routing that had been mainline NC 211 previously. This is the 2nd NC 211 Business.

NC 211 Bus #1: Appeared as early as 1960 as a renumbering of NC 211-A or there is a small possibility it replaced mostly secondary routing that was once NC 211 in Lumberton.
NC 211 Bus used 2nd St west into Lumberton (duplex with then-US 74), then the route had a one-way split: WB used Chestnut St and 14th St to Elm; SB used Elm St all the way in from NC 211 Bypass.
The 1962 and 1968 Robeson County maps show this NC 211 Bus. Official maps however did not show the Elm St corridor as primary, so I am unsure if 211 Business lasted until 1974 when US 74 was removed from 2nd St. Today NC 211 Business is 2nd St, plus NC 41-72.
