NC 262: Appeared in 1930 as new primary routing, running from NC 25 (now NC 75) Waxhaw to US 74/NC 20 (now 7th St) Charlotte.
In 1940, NC 262 was renumbered as NC 16, which it mostly remains today. NC 262 used Hawthorne Lane, 4th St and Providence Rd. The 1930 Mecklenburg County Map appears to show Old Providence Rd already bypassed.
