NC 276: Appeared in 1930 as new primary routing, running from NC 27 near Mint Hill southwest through Matthews and ending at NC 26 (now just Polk St) Pineville.
NC 276 used today's NC 51 except in Matthews it used John St, Trade St and Matthews-Mint Hill Rd to zig-zag through town.
In late 1934 NC 276 was renumbered as NC 51.
