N.C. 27-A  dead
Formerly:
NC 27-A #1: The first NC 27-A was born in 1932 as a renumbering of the first NC 271. It ran from US 29-74/NC 20 (just US 29 Morehead St now) near Charlotte northwest to NC 27 (Mt. Holly Rd) Thrift.
NC 27-A was renumbered as NC 27 in 1936. Today it is still NC 27 except just east of I-85 old 27-A used Tuckaseegee/Thrift Rds.

NC 27-A becomes 27

NC 27-A #2: The second NC 27-A appeared in 1959 or 1960, running from NC 73 Pee Dee east to NC 109 Wadeville. This had been part of NC 27 previously.
NC 27A was decommissioned in 1967 or 1968 and is just SR 1174, "old NC 27" today.
