NC 302: An original state highway, initially running from NC 30 (C St at Bridge St) Bridgeton east to Bayboro.
In 1922, NC 302 was extended as new routing to Oriental.
In 1940, NC 302 was renumbered as NC 55 which it remains except NC 302 used Main St through Alliance and NC 55 no longer goes into Bridgeton proper.
