N.C. 346  dead
Formerly:
NC 346: Appears to have existed at most 1928-30. May have begun as the original 1928 bridge from NC 345 over Roanoke Sound to Whalebone. Later in 1930 NC 346 was extended up through Nags Head and Kill Devil Hills.
When the bridge across Currituck Sound opened in 1930, NC 346 was renumbered as NC 344. Today this would be US 158 across Currituck Sound; NC 12 south to Whalebone and US 64 west to NC 345.
The 1930 Dare County map shows 346 labeled. This could be a typo of 344. However, at least one commercial map showed it, too.
