NC 481 Business: Serves Enfield. Looks to have been created around 2003 as a renumbering of NC 481. The first awareness I had of this route was seeing it in the field when I drove by in May 2004. NC 481 Business follows Glenview St, then Whitfield St, then a zig-zag with SE Railroad St to Whitaker St before ending at McDaniel St (US 301 and NC 481). The zig-zag is a difficult maneuver for trucks and is in my opinion the reason there is a 481 Bypass.
