Bicycle/Pedestrian Lane:  Crossing the Bridge into Maryland

These photos are of the Bike/Ped Lane shortly after its opening to the public on June 6, 2009.  This page begins at the Washington St Bridge Deck in Alexandria and follows the bike/ped lane across the Woodrow Wilson Bridge to Maryland and to the connections to both Oxon Hill Rd and National Harbor.  The photos are shown in the order they were taken.  Click on a thumbnail for a larger photo (opens in a new window).

In the first photo, the man giving a short introduction before letting the public on their way is Bryan Johnston, public affairs coordinator for the Woodrow Wilson Bridge Project, and an employee of URS.
