SC 227: Appeared in 1940 as new primary routing from SC 22 (now SC 34) west of Winnsboro north to the Chester County Line.
In 1941, SC 227 was extended north to SC 704 (now S-12-16/22 jct).
Between 1943-46, SC 227 south was extended east a short distance with SC 22, then east as new routing to end at US 21 (now US 321) Adgers.
In 1947, SC 227 was downgraded to S-20-38, S-20-22, and S-12-38 (now S-12-16).
SC 227 appears in western Fairfield County
