SC 231: Appeared in 1940 as new primary routing from US 1 in northern Aiken County northwest to Johnston, then followed SC 23 east a bit before heading northwest to end at SC 430 just below SC 43 (now US 378).
In 1947, SC 231 was downgraded to S-2-25, S-19-17, SC 19 and SC 23 through Johnston, S-19-28, S-19-21.
