 Creation: SC 274 appeared in 1938 as a renumbering of SC 58, running from SC 49-59 (now SC 49-557) north to North Carolina. This is the only SC 274.
Adjustments: In 1939, SC 274 was extended south with SC 49 to SC 55, then south as new primary routing to SC 5 (now SC 161).
In 1959, SC 274 was extended southeast to US 21 Bus/SC 322 Rock Hill as a replacement for part of SC 5.

Comment: SC 274 is a good way to get from Rock Hill to Gastonia NC.
