In 1947, SC 281 ALT was downgraded to S-7-5. Today it is unnumbered Paris Ave.
SC 281 ALT is shown but not labeled on state officials as county maps. However, a picture exists of Paris Ave at 12th St showing this was posted as SC 281 ALT.
SC 281 ALT #2: Appeared by 1940 as new primary routing, running from SC 281 east to US 21 Beaufort along North St and Bay St.
In 1946, SC 281 ALT was downgraded to S-7-6.
