Creation: SC 315 appeared in 2013 as a renumbering of SC 170 ALT. This is the 2nd SC 315.

SC 315 #1: Appeared in 1940 as new primary routing, running from SC 47 Elloree west past SC 31 (now US 176) to the Ornageburg County Line.
In 1942, SC 315 was extended west as new primary routing to end at SC 4 (now US 301) near Orangeburg. In 1947, SC 315 was downgraded to S-38-50, S-9-19, S-9-15, and S-38-35.
