US 13: In the late 1960s, AASHTO rejected at least twice an extension of US 13 from Eastover NC to Abbeville SC.
US 13 would have replaced SC 79; followed SC 9 to Chester; followed SC 72 to end at SC 28 in Abbeville.
There was no corresponding request to turn SC 28 into a US route, so US 13 would've ended at a state route. This may have led to the denial (summary page did not say why it was denied).
