Creation: Appeared in 1930 running generally the way it does now. US 41W was assigned to its entirety at that time.
Adjustments: In 1934, TN 112 was rerouted at the Cumberland River to follow more TN 12. TN 112 originally used Buena Vista Pike from TN 12 to current US 431 to Joelton; Old Clarksville Pike west to current TN 112.
In 1936, TN 112 was placed on modern US 41A through Cheatham County. The old routing used the Old Clarksville Pike loop in northwestern Davidson County; Old Clarksville Pike into Cheatham County, Old Pinnacle Rd; Old Pinnacle Rd in Robertson County; Pinnacle Cir and Pinnacle Rd in Pleasant View; there are several possibilities how TN 112 got to Clarksville from Pleasant View before 1936, so I don't know what was the right one.
In 1937 or 1938, TN 112 south was truncated to its current endpoint. The original south end was at 5th and Deaderick St in downtown Nashville, then up 5th to Monroe St west to 9th north (through Kroger parkng lot now and also does not cross I-65) to Buchanan west to 18th (now Dr. Todd Blvd) to Clarksville Pile across the river with current US 41A.
About 1944, US 41W was renumbered in the field as US 41A, though route logs up through 1962 said it was US 43.
In the late 1960s, TN 112 north was extended from its original endpoint of TN 12-76 (now Memorial Dr intersection) through Clarksville to its current endpoint, replacing TN 12.
Posting: Completely unposted; only the segemtn between TN 374 and TN 76 in eastern Clarksville is primary; the rest is secondary.
Secret US Route Overlay: US 41A (entire length).
Comment: I do not believe TN 112 ever used the legthly Old Clarksville Pike through Cheatham County over to TN 12 Fredonia, as both the 1932 map and all route logs say TN 112 went via Pleasant View.
This route has been rendered much less important with the existance of parallel I-24.
Some commercial maps show TN 112 to downtown Nashville up into the mid-1940s but the route log changed between 1936 and 1938 to move the south end from Nashville to Bordeaux.
