Creation: Appeared in 1983 running from TN 20 Dyersburg northeast through Trimble and Obion to end at US 51 Troy. The route through Dyersburg was a renumbering of part of TN 3.
Adjustments: In 1989, TN 211 was extended south replacing TN 20 to US 51 south of Dyersburg. Between 1996-2000, TN 211 between Trimble and Obion was closed to through traffic due to decrepit bridges at the Obion River. Maps from 2000 up through 2003 were inconsistent on showing TN 211 removed from the highway system there. When it was shown closed there, it still showed Obion to Troy as TN 211. Wikipedia says a TN 211 detour was posted via TN 105, US 51 and TN 183 for a while. In 2004, the Obion-Troy segment of TN 211 was renumbered as part of TN 183, putting the north end of TN 211 at TN 105 Trimble.
