Adjustments: In 1995 or 1996, TN 216 east was extended south along the former US 45E bypass to US 45E Bus, then with the new US 45E bypass around the east of Martin to end at TN 22-431.
In 2016 or 2017, TN 216 east was truncated back to the US 45E/45E Bus interchange. The route over to TN 22-431 became part of TN 43.
