Creation: Appeared in 1983 running basically as it does now. The short portion between TN 301 and TN 101 had been part of TN 101. The western few miles had been part of TN 111 until about 1966.
Adjustments: About 1995, TN 285 west was truncated to the new US 70S routing east of Doyle. Posting: Posted as a secondary route; oddly, the duplexes with TN 111 and TB 30 are posted on the respective west splits but not on the east splits.
