WV 22: Created in 1922 as new primary routing running from WV 15 Webster Springs to WV 1 (intersection of Pike and Main) Clarksburg
About 1931, WV 22 was renumbered as part of WV 20, which it remains except: CR 20/18 and CR 20/19 plus some abandoned routing in the Hodam area of Webster County; CR 20/27 above Kanawha Head; CR 4/15 Hoovertown Rd and CR 20/29 Mulberry Ridge Rd in French Creek; CR 20/77 Cimarron Rd in Clarksburg which no longer connects back to WV 20; WV 20S Main St in Clarksburg
