Creation: WV 75 was designated in 1924 (WVDOT annual report) as new primary routing, running from WV 3 (now US 60) Kenova to WV 8 (now WV 152) Lavalette. This is the only WV 75.
Adjustments: About 1962, WV 75 was moved to newly constructed alignment to accommodate I-64. This left behind today's CR 75/7 Old Highway 75 (this has now been split into disconnecting pieces with the northern piece becoming CR 1/20 Robbins Hill Rd); some I-64 ROW; CR 75/8 Woodmont Dr.
Between 1999-2001, WV 75 was rerouted again near I-64 onto newly constructed US 52 routing along with replacing some of what had been US 52. The old routing is Old US 52 (removed from maintenance).
Improvements: WV 75 was fully paved in 1932.
WV 75 is multilane on its current US 52 overlay.
