US 250: 4.1 - 22.5
WV 89: Appeared 1928 (WVDOT annual report) as new primary routing running from US 250 in southeastern Marshall County east a short distance to the Pennsylvania line which continued as PA 21.
Between 1943-46, WV 89 was extended south with US 250 through Cameron and Bellton, then replaced Marshall CR 250/12 and Wetzel CR 1 all the way across to end at WV 2 Proctor.
Between 1978-80, WV 89 east was truncated to US 250 below Bellton. The short piece between US 250 and the Pennsylvania line became WV 891.
In 1993 or 1994, the remaining WV 89 between WV 2 and US 250 was downgraded to CR 89.

Trucks were not recommended on WV 89 leaving WV 2, and a leftover prohibition sign with a WV 89 shield remains today...
