Creation: WV 807 was designated about 1978 (bridge date) as new construction, running as it does today. This is the only WV 807.
Adjustments: None
Improvements: Upon designation, WV 807 was fully paved and multilane.
Comment: WV 807 is not posted, though during a construction project there was an error US 807 shield for it. It is actually posted as TO OH 7. There is an OH 807 posting on their side however.
WV 807 is NOT a direct renumbering of the former US 50 ALT, which was decommissioned about 1976. By then, US 50 ALT was back to using a ferry at the site of a previous bridge right in central St. Marys.
I guess 807 was chosen as the number to match OH 807, but with WV 16 very nearby I don't know why WV 16 wasn't assigned to this...TO WV 16 is posted on WV 807.
