Creation: WV 892 was designated between 1978-80 as an upgrade to CR 11, CR 30, CR 34, CR 30/2 and more CR 30, running as it does now. This is the only WV 892.
Adjustments: The northern end was reworked about 2005 to curl around to accomodate the new US 50 interchange.
Improvements: Upon designation, WV 892 was fully paved; no multilane segments.
Comment: Loop that serves Washington and manages to get two interchanges with US 50.
No idea why 892 is the number chosen (why not 682?).
