NC 95: Appeared in 1930 as new primary routing, running from NC 40 (now US 301 Business) Rocky Mount to NC 12 (now US 258) Lawrence.
In 1933, NC 95 was extended south on US 301/NC 40 through Rocky Mount, then extended west as new routing to end at US 64-264/NC 39-90-91 Zebulon.
In 1935, NC 95 was extended east as new routing to NC 122 Hobgood.
In 1961, NC 95 was renumbered as NC 97. It remains so today except through Rocky Mount it uses Atlantic Ave just to the east of US 301 Business.
