NC 221: Appeared very briefly in 1934 as new primary routing, running from NC 102-117 (now NC 55) west of Newton Grove across US 301/NC 22 to end at NC 55 Coats.
In late 1934. NC 221 was renumbered as NC 50. Today it is still mostly NC 50 from Benson to Newton Grove (used Warren Mill Rd) and NC 27 from Coats to Benson.
