NC 54-A: Born in 1956 or 1957 as a renumbering of NC 54 through Carrboro and Chapel Hill.
In 1960, NC 54-A was redesignated as NC 54 BUsiness. Today it is Main St through Carrboro; Franklin St, a couple blocks of NC 86; South St and Raleigh Rd.
