NC 55 Bus: Born in December 2002 (mtr post from John Lansford) as a renumbering of NC 55 through Holly Springs and Feltonville. NC 55 Business follows Main St all the way through. First shown on the 2003 Official Map. In Oct 2019 (NCDOT), NC 55 Business through Holly Springs was downgraded to SR 6107 outside Holly Springs proper and removed from the state highway system altogether within town limits. For its entire existence, NC 55 Business was posted like the picture above - bannerless through town and 'Bypass' banner avoiding the town.
