US 117 Connector was born March 2009 (NCDOT) as a renumbering of Sampson SR 1783 and Duplin SR 1417, connecting I-40/NC 403 to US 117 at Calypso. The road had been there since 1994 or 1995 and was posted as TO US 117 or TO I-40 as appropriate. 0.3 miles of US 117 Conn is duplexed with NC 403 on its southern end.
