 Creation: SC 303 appeared in 1929 as a renumbering of SC 321, running from SC 32 (now S-15-14) Green Pond north to Walterboro. This is the only SC 303.
Adjustments: In 1933, SC 303 was extended south replacing SC 32 to its current end.

Improvements: SC 303 was paved in 1932; no multilane sections exist.
Comment: SC 303 is signed as TO I-95 from US 17, making it a viable alternative to travel from Beaufort to I-95 Walterboro.
