Creation: SC 322 appeared in July 1936 (SCDOT) as new primary routing, running from US 321 McConnells east to US 21 (now just Main St at Oakland Ave) Rock Hill. This is the only SC 322.
| Adjustments: In 1940, SC 322 was extended west as new primary routing to SC 91 (now SC 49) Bullock Creek. Also, SC 322 was rerouted to its current path in Rock Hill to end at US 21-SC 5 (now SC 274) north of downtown Rock Hill. The old path to downtown became partly downgraded (now S-46-289 Finley Rd) and SC 322 ALT (now S-46-1 Main St).
In 1953, SC 322 was rebuilt from S-46-1348 Orr Rd to S-46-59 Burris Rd leaving behind mostly abandoned alignments plus Meeks Rd. I believe by the next year or two, SC 322 was rebuilt from Burris Rd west to SC 97. This left several abandoned alignments and got rid of a 0.4 mile overlay with SC 97 running south from the current intersection.

SC 322 rebuilt west of Burris Rd to SC 97 1962 York County In 2013, SC 322 was extended northeast replacing US 21 Bus to US 21/SC 121 near I-77.
Improvements: SC 324 was fully paved between US 321 and US 21 in 1939 In 1951, SC 322 was paved between SC 91 and SC 907 (current SC 97). The remainder of SC 322 was paved about 1954. SC 322 was multilaned between SC 5 CONN and SC 274 in 2007. Between 2008-12 (GMSV) SC 322 was multilaned between SC 901 and SC 5 CONN. SC 322 was multilaned on its 2013 extension to US 21/SC 121. Comment: SC 322 serves southwestern York County. | |||||||||
