Comment: US 21 Business for Fort Mill uses Spratt St, White Ave (multiplex with SC 160), and an unknown road heading north.
With several turns in Fort Mill, it is difficult to say if US 21 Business uses the original state route through Fort Mill, SC 7.

Creation: Appeared about 1967, US 21 Bus north was rerouted in central Orangeburg to instead follow Magnolia St (renumbering of US 21 Bypass). This is the 4th US 21 Bus.

Comment: US 21 Business for Orangeburg uses a tiny piece of Rowesville Rd, a little Charleston Hwy and Magnolia St.
The Rowesville Rd piece on the south end was once part of today's SC 6, but no other part of US 21 Business is on historic state highway routing.

Creation: Appeared 1990, when US 21 was given its intial Beaufort Bypass. Replaced mainline US 21 from SC 802 Frogmore through downtown Beaufort back to US 21 (now SC 281). This is the 5th US 21 Bus.
Adjustments: In 2012, US 21 Bus north was extended further out to a relocated US 21 Bypass (former SC 280) in Burton.
Improvements: Fully paved from inception; no multilane segments.
Comment: partially multilane west of the Beaufort River.
Comment: US 21 Business for Beaufort uses Boundary St, Carteret St. and Sea Island Pkwy.
US 21 Business was once part of SC 28 west of the river and SC 285 east of the river.
The first time I ever drove the drawbridge (1987) over the Beaufort River I had to stop while Dominoes Pizza delivered to the bridgekeeper.

US 21 Bus #2: Appeared 1950, when US 21 was given its intial Orangeburg Bypass. However, it was not a renumbering of US 21 but rather a renumbering of SC 210 on Columbia Rd below Chestnut, plus an addition to US 178 Business throguh Orangeburg.
In 1966, US 21 Bus was decommissioned. Columbia Rd became US 21-178 CONN and the rest remains US 178 Bus

In 1963, US 21 Bus was placed on one-way pairs in downtown Rock Hill, with EB using Black St and WB using the existing route along Main St.
In 1988, SC 5 was removed from Main St in downtown Rock Hill with both directions using Black St.
In 2013, US 21 Business was decommissioned. A small bit remained SC 5; Black St became S-46-118; Oakland Ave became S-46-115; Cherry Rd became part of SC 322.
