SC 333
<SC 332 | Home | SC 334 >
From: Scotia (Hampton County)
To: Furman (Hampton County)
Total Length: 3.4 miles
ROUTE LOG
US 321: 0 - 0
US 601: 3.4 - 3.4
Creation: SC 333 appeared in 1939 as new primary routing, running as it does now, although its endpoints then were SC 5 and SC 63. This is the only SC 333.
Adjustments: In 1940, SC 333 was extended in both directions as new primary routing: east to the Jasper County Line; west to Shirley then in a sweeping loop southeast to SC 5 (now US 321) Garnett.
In 1942, SC 333 east was extended as new primary routing to end at SC 631 (now SC 3) near Grays.
In 1947, SC 333 was fully downgraded to S-25-20 Garnett to Shirley; S-25-25 Shirley to Scotia; S-25-15 Scotia to Furman; S-25-26/S-27-17 Furman to Grays.
In 1949, SC 333 was restored to run from Scotia to Furman.
Improvements: Paved at 1949 revival; no multilane sections
Comment: I drove SC 333 in 1996. It is a simple rural connector between two small towns.
